Corner groceries and dépanneurs

Norman Kucharsky had "vivid memories" of the corner grocery store owned by his grandmother at the corner of Roy and Henri Julien streets in Montreal and decided to create a series of paintings of the old-fashioned stores that remained but were rapidly on their way out. “It’s part of our history, our life in the neighbourhood,” he said.
